Covington is the parish seat of St. Tammany, and neighboring Mandeville sits on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain at the end of the Causeway. Many residents moved here from the South Shore and still keep doctors in New Orleans or Metairie, while others have switched to providers on the Northshore.
